Change in Learning Modality
The main purpose of changing learning modality is to ensure that students can continue their education in a format that best supports their academic success, personal circumstances, and overall well-being.
Changing of learning modality can only be done once.
The following are the modalities that are currently available.
| Modality | Description |

| Blended | This is the default modality for most programs offered by the university. Students under this modality attend classes face-to-face with the occasional digital days |
| Fully Online | This modality is specific to programs that are classified as Fully Online Programs (FOP). Students under these programs attend classes asynchronously. |
Processing Time
Processing this request takes around 3-5 working days depending on the number of courses taken and will need to be matched for crediting.

Eligibility
Any student is eligible to change modality provided they meet the academic requirements as well as the availability of the program in the target modality and has met the academic requirement of the target program.

| Eng’r. and Science Programs with Licensure | Cumulative average of 2.50 or better with no record of failure in any course. The weighted average in Math (up-to Integral Calculus), Physics, and Chemistry should be 2.50 or better. |

Cumulative average of 2.50 or better with no record of failure in any course. |
| AR/INT | Cumulative average of 2.50 or better with no record of failure in any course. Weighted average of drawing courses must be 2.00 or better. The weighted average in Math (up-to Integral Calculus) and Physics should be 3.00 or better. All basic courses that are similar to those in the first year level of AR or INT program, including PE and NSTP must have been completed. |
| Arts / SoMDA Multimedia Arts, Digital Film, and the likes |
Submission of a creative works portfolio related to the degree program being applied for. |
When can you avail of the service?
A student can apply anytime for a change in learning modality but will only take effect for the immediate next term.
How to apply for the service?
Eligible students applying for this service will need to follow these steps.
- The student must fill out the Program Shifting Request form.
- The student submits the form to the Dean of his/her current program for notation.
- After notation, the form is submitted by the student to the Dean of the accepting program.
- The Dean of the accepting program may request to interview the student.
- The Dean evaluates the application of the student.
- Within three (3) business days from submission of the form or interview, the student may secure the Form.
- If approved, the student submits the form to the Registrar.
- The Registrar prepares and provides the billing to the student.
- The student pays the processing fee.
- After payment, the student files the form with the Registrar.
- The Registrar evaluates the courses that can be credited and updates the records of the student.
